Island Time!

July 15 - 19

Art Teachers: Lesley Allen, Glenda Taylor, Megan Whichello

Create your own paradise, tropical fish, flowers, bright colorful landscapes and other fun projects throughout the week! Campers will explore their creativity through drawing, painting, collage and sculpting.

Pet Portraits & Sculptures

July 29 - August 2

Art Teachers: Emily Colt, Lynne Spell, Carla Taylor

Hot Dog! Campers will draw, create and paint animal portraits and sculptures of their favorite pets, real or imaginative. Have a fantastic time exploring basic techniques of art while emphasizing creativity and self-expression.

General Camp Information:

Art Camp is limited to 36 students per week on a first-come basis

Ages: entering grades 1-6 Fall 2019

Classes are Monday-Thursday, 8:30am-12:00pm

Students attend 3 hour long classes each day with 3 different teachers

Students will explore creative lessons in a variety of media including painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, etc.

Please bring a snack each day!

Artist Reception—Friday, July 19 and Aug 2 from 12:00—1:30pm for friends and family. Light lunch provided.


Art Camp Registration:

Advance registration is required and must be received by July 10

Fees must be paid in full at time of registration in person: Tuesday - Friday 10am - 2pm at the Victor R. Small House

Pottery Camp

All students will explore clay with hand building techniques and the older students will have a chance to try wheel-throwing. These classes will focus on creativity and the endless possibilities of working with clay. Each day will feature a different project based on a pottery technique and students will create unique, functional and decorative pieces of pottery. Bring your imagination and wear your art clothes because we are going to get dirty!

Photorealistic Oil Painting
Instructed by Krystin McPhail

Cost: $65 for Members and $80 for Nonmembers
(includes all supplies)

Photorealism is a genre of art that includes painting, drawing, and other graphic media, in which an artist studies a photograph and then attempts to reproduce the image as realistically as possible. In this painting workshop, students will study subject matter with superior clarity and focus on detail, value, color and forms to re-create a photograph on canvas using oil paints.


Printmaking
Instructed by Carla Taylor
July 23, 24, 25, 2019 (Tues, Wed. Thurs)

Cost: $65 for Members and $80 for Nonmembers
(includes all supplies)

Students will use gouges to cut original designs out of linoleum blocks to create one multicolor print and one black and white print. The black and white printmaking process will be short and sweet, but the multicolor printmaking process is a bit more time consuming. After the three day workshop, students will have two original 8x10 prints to display and cherish.

Pottery
